Built for Northern Ireland

Drafted to Northern Ireland Wills law · Usually delivered within 24 hours

None of us like to think about not being here. But a Will isn't really about you — it's about the people you leave behind. Without one, the law decides who gets what: your home, your savings, even who raises your children. That can mean months of cost and stress at the worst possible time — and if you weren't married, your partner may inherit nothing. Writing a Will is one of the kindest, simplest things you can do for the people you love. ClearLegacy makes it take 15 minutes, from £69 — so the people who matter are protected, whatever happens.

How It Works

From first click to a signing-ready Will — four straightforward steps.

1

Answer the questions

Around 15 minutes of plain-English questions covering your assets, beneficiaries, executors and guardians. No legal jargon, no homework.

2

We draft your Will

Your answers flow into a quality-checked Will built against the Wills and Administration Proceedings (Northern Ireland) Order 1994. The document is generated usually within 24 hours and emailed to you as a PDF.

3

Review & sign

Print, read carefully, sign in front of two independent witnesses who also sign. We send clear, step-by-step signing instructions with the PDF.

4

Valid once signed and witnessed

Once you and your witnesses have signed — and provided you are 18 or over, of sound mind and acting freely — your Will is legally valid in Northern Ireland. Store the original safely and let your executor know where to find it.

Drafted to Northern Ireland Wills law

Every ClearLegacy Will is drafted to the formalities of the Wills and Administration Proceedings (Northern Ireland) Order 1994 — the same law that governs solicitor-drafted Wills in Northern Ireland. A Will prepared online can be legally valid in Northern Ireland when all applicable legal requirements are met, including testamentary capacity, acting voluntarily, and correct signing and witnessing. Follow the supplied instructions carefully. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

About ClearLegacy

I started ClearLegacy after seeing how hard "a simple thing" can be. When someone close passed away without a Will, what followed wasn't just grief — it was paperwork, delay, cost, and quiet tension between people who loved each other. It shouldn't be that hard, and it shouldn't cost £500 to put your wishes in writing. ClearLegacy is my answer: a proper, legally valid Will — from a few plain-English questions, checked against the 1994 Wills Order, usually delivered within 24 hours — for £69. No jargon, no upsells. Just a simple way for any UK resident to make sure the people they love are looked after. — Sat Lally, Founder

Common Questions

Quick answers to the questions we hear most often.

Is an online Will legally valid?+
It can be. A Will prepared online can be legally valid in Northern Ireland when all applicable legal requirements are met, including testamentary capacity, acting voluntarily, and correct signing and witnessing. Follow the supplied instructions carefully. The Wills and Administration Proceedings (Northern Ireland) Order 1994 does not distinguish between a Will drafted online and one drafted by a solicitor — what matters is that those requirements are met.
What happens after I pay?+
Your first draft is emailed to you straight after payment so you can check every name and wish. Your Will is then checked before it’s issued, and the signing-ready PDF usually follows within 24 hours, with step-by-step signing instructions.
Can I edit my Will later?+
Yes. We include one free update with every Will. After that, a full rewrite is £69. We recommend reviewing your Will every 3–5 years or after major life events like marriage, divorce, or the birth of a child.
Is my data safe?+
Your answers are encrypted in transit and at rest and are never sold or shared for marketing. Payment is handled by Stripe — your card details never touch our servers.
Is ClearLegacy insured?+
Yes. ClearLegacy holds professional indemnity insurance and £2m of public liability insurance with Hiscox, one of the UK’s leading business insurers. Will writing is an unregulated market in Northern Ireland — which is exactly why we chose to put professional-grade cover in place.
What happens if I die without a Will?+
Your estate is distributed under Northern Ireland’s intestacy rules, set out in the Administration of Estates Act (Northern Ireland) 1955 — not according to your wishes. These are not the same as the rules in England and Wales: in Northern Ireland a surviving spouse does not automatically inherit everything, even where there are no children. Unmarried partners receive nothing automatically. Step-children are excluded. Only a valid Will ensures your estate passes as you intend. Your executors will also pay probate fees. See how the Northern Ireland intestacy rules work →
How much does it cost to make a Will?+
£69 for a Single Will or £99 for Mirror Wills at ClearLegacy — a high-street solicitor typically charges £150–£400 for a standard Single Will.
Who is behind ClearLegacy?+
ClearLegacy is a trading name of Kaizen Finance Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (Company No. 12092327). Since launching, we have helped 70+ families in England & Wales write their Will; Northern Ireland is our newest jurisdiction — and that number grows every week. We hold professional indemnity and £2m public liability insurance with Hiscox.
